20.09.12 TWW Cardiff. Hollybush Res Assoc, Coryton Primary School, McDonalds & Barclays
Twenty nine volunteers came out today to do a litterpick around Hollybush estate and Park Road in Whitchurch. Four groups from Hollybush Residents' Association (2), Coryton Primary School (12 pupils & 1 teacher) McDonalds (6), Barclays (6) & 2 volunteers from the coastal path clean up day made up the numbers for this massive Tidy Wales Week event. Barclays concentrated on Park Road, while McDonalds tackled the steep slopes behind the fenceline where many of the estates cars are parked. We also found out where many of them just dump their rubbish too. The children concentrated their efforts mainly around the estate, play area and by some of the garages where we collected 6 big bags including one recycling. The McDonalds volunteers cleared a massive stretch of the bank and cleared 14 bags plus loads of car parts, a battery, car tyre and a bike wheel. The volunteers from Barclays, residents Association and our 2 walkers cleared 8 bags of rubbish just along Park Road. Altogether we collected 28 bags of rubbish plus about 100 kg of other materials.

Well done everyone.
