Still Life - Pomegranates 3 (Explored)
My latest still life shot. I discovered this wonderful old barn-wood table over the weekend and, well, couldn't resist buying it. And, it was only ten dollars so I jumped on it. I think it will make a great platform for even more still life photos.
Single exposure using 2 flash heads and hard lighting with only slight diffusion on my Ascor QC1000 studio strobe setup. This shot was done using the quartz modeling lights of that system.
Light placement: Camera Right, high above and slightly in back of the subject to bring out the detail in flowers, vase, wrapping paper. Supplemental white foam-core reflector with strong bounced light on camera left-front to add light to pomegranates and plate, as well as front of table. Foam-core fill-in from left of set for additional fill-in light.
Olympus E-30 camera mounted with Zuiko 35mm f3.5 Macro lens. ISO 100. Exp. 1 sec @f16.
Processed using Adobe Photoshop CS5, Topaz Adjust5, and FastStone editor.
