In both Malayalam and Tamil, the word ‘Munnar’ means three rivers, as it is merging place of three mountain streams. Munnar was once the summer capital of the British in southern India. Munnar was developed to cultivate tea plants by British although it was first discovered by Scottish planters.

This is a beautiful picture. I must say I too was surprised by Munnar's natural beauty when I visited in 2010. I loved Top Station and for me Munnar is the best hill station in India.
