Antinous / 1
So the story of Antinous is probably my favorite from ancient times. Shortly after his mysterious death, he may have been the most common human subject of sculpture throughout the world. But now, only a handful of them remain. (And only one in all of the United States.) The Pergamon had three--and a whole little section devoted to him. I was in my glory.
This one was from Rome, 130-138 AD. [Berlin SK 361]
