Turkel House Interior

At the Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy's annual conference (this year held in Detroit) we went to go see several Wright designed houses. This is a shot of the concrete block house for the Turkel family. It has recently been purchased by a new owner that is starting the long and expansive process of restoring it. Its in rough shape now, but it will be a jewel when its done. This house features a lot of textile blocks and integrated glass windows into the concrete, many with mitered glass corners.

This shot is looking back from the main window wall to the fireplace, entrance hall and upper balcony.
