Franky's Hat

This is my own pattern called Easy Peasy Cap Version 1

 

Use two colors of worsted weight yarn

Size 7 – 16” circular needles

Size 8 – 16” circular needles

Size 8 double pointed needles

 

CO 100 using size 7 circulars. Join, being careful not to twist stitches. Place marker.

 

Ribbing:

*K1, p1* for 2 inches

 

Change to size 8 circulars and knit round until last two stitches, K2tog (98 stitches).

 

Change color. Continue knitting until measures 4-1/2” from cast on row

 

Decreasing: (change to dpns when needed)

1.*Knit 9, k2tog*, repeat around (90 stitches).

2.Knit 1 round

3.*Knit 8, k2tog*. Repeat around (81 stitches).

4.Knit 1 round

5.*Knit 7, k2tog* repeat around (72 stitches).

6.Knit 1 round

7.*Knit 6, k2tog*, repeat around (63 stitches).

8.Knit 1 round

9.*Knit 5, k2tog*, repeat around (54 stitches).

10.Knit 1 round

11.*Knit 4, k2tog*, repeat around (45 stitches).

12.Knit 1 round

13.*Knit 3, k2tog*, repeat around (36 stitches).

14.Knit 1 round

15.*Knit 2, k2tog*, repeat around (27 stitches).

16.*Knit 1, k2tog*, repeat around (18 stitches).

17.*K2 tog*, repeat around (9 stitches).

 

Cut yarn and with needle, run through remaining stitches and tighten to secure. Weave in ends.
