Landscape... Seascape

A photo taken from the window of my passenger jet flying from San Francisco to Philadelphia. It was sunset over the sand dunes of west-central Nebraska.

Wow, great colors. Nice time to be looking out your window.

Thanks, Liza with a Z! It wasn't actually by chance that I looked out the window. I wasfascinated with the window view the whole time (that is, the whole time while there was still daylight). Spectacular experience!

This is so abstract that without your description I'm not sure I'd have interpreted it as a landscape. Really beautiful.
  • kawkawpa PRO 6y

Yeah, I know. The colors look more like a Photoshopped gradient map product than something produced in nature. But they're real - the slanting late-day sunlight is yellow on the hills and that cyan blue is shadow on the snow in the hollows. I really lucked out on this flight, photography-wise. And the experience of seeing all that was something I'll have with me for the rest of my life.

I do not understand, is water? and other color? better explain to me, a greeting
  • kawkawpa PRO 4y

Nope, not water. It's landscape with a series of small hills in a pattern. There's snow in the hollows, and being late in the day, it's a bluish tone from the light & shadow. Thanks, all, for commenting!

super photo...I recently spent a couple days driving through the Nebraska Sandhills, and your aerial view really communicates what a beautiful but lonesome landscape this is.
