I have to share the story around this image. The final stages of construction are going on at our new office. I make three rounds of inspection each day. This one was made at night time.
This is one of the guys working on our gate that will come. He was cutting the bars of steel that would be bent to form the framework for our front compound gate. I was fascinated by the sparks of fire and I left immediately to get my camera from my home. When I returned he was still at work and he happily obliged to pose for me. I shot a few images with my Canon 5D Mark II as well as my Powershot G10.
There is a giant tree just behind the bricks you see in this image towards the right.
Luckily for me, the minute I finished shooting him, it started to drizzle, so I quickly hurried back into my car and left for home.
The minute I parked my car at home, about 10 minutes after, I received a call from the supervisor that the tree behind the bricks had collapsed onto the street. Luckily the guy who was working there had gone to drink a tea, as it had started to drizzle, so he was not hurt. No one was passing by the street at the time, and so that turned out lucky too.
I guess fate was on everyone's side. Except the tree.*
I feel a bit sad to have lost this tree, as it was one of my favorite trees at our place. I dedicate this image to the tree.
