I am jealous. You have been to many of the places that I always wanted to see. I have some great books on Gilgit, Swat and the Karakoram but am quite unlikely to get there.
Of course I did get to central Afghanistan so that is not so bad!

Afghanistan, amazing! Now I'm jealous. I've always felt I would see the Large Buddha of Bamiyan.. but that's never going to happen.
The north of Pakistan was incredibly stunning, such amazing mountains. I wouldn't go there now! At the time I was traveling with a female friend and I tell you, two women on the road isn't really nice in Pakistan. So we arrived more quickly to the Chinese border than we originally planned.
My friend took many pictures which I hope we will start scanning soon, as my next project!

My situation was not much different a single single guy travelling across Pakistan. The monsoon rains were flooding all the highways. I spent a month in India and two weeks in Afghanistan but only two nights in Pakistan.
