#326 - Maid Rite, Quincy, IL

    Newer Older

(326/365) We knew we wanted to eat lunch at a Maid Rite while driving down the Mississippi. We ended up at one in Quincy, IL that has had its franchise since 1928. It was totally old school. It ends up it is also the one Alton Brown went to on Feasting On Asphalt.

As a Quincy native, I can assure you that Maid Rites are addicting. It's usually the first stop I make when I hit town...even before I go to my parents' house! LOL One other note, the Quincy Maid Rite should not be confused with the franchised "Maid-Rite". I've eaten at two franchised Maid-Rite restaurants (Denver and Loveland, CO...both now closed) and they don't hold a candle to the Quincy operation.
