Nesting bald eagles
I've been observing and photographing this bald eagle pair for the past five years. Last year, their nest went down and they lost their two babies. The year before, their one baby didn't survive fledging, which isn't unusual. Nearly half of bald eagles don't survive fledging. I've documented first flights of their two babies in 2012 and their only youngster in 2011. It looks like they've found a new tree in the area for this year's nest. And so it begins. They are an amazing pair - resilient, loyal, and very committed to each other. I'll begin sharing my experiences in my blog Words About Pictures. Here's the last entry about these eagles: wordandpicturecommunications.blogspot.com/2014/06/do-eagl...
