Ham and Cheese Croissant
We were just in Guarany for a light snack, so I had a ham and cheese croissant.
Portuguese-style croissants are kind of interesting. Architecturally, they closely resemble the French version with spiraled layers of dough.... but other than that, the dough is completely different. It has a *lot* more egg yolk in it (a common feature of Portuguese pastries), resulting in a heavier, doughy consistency, resembling more of a brioche than a French-style croissant.
I actually think it makes a pretty good sandwich.
