Janek Karwowski - Rybnik, Poland - 1983.
My mother's twin brother, Janek Karwowski, was a driver, working for PKS (a transportation company), driving trucks across Poland.
I can remember he once visited us on his blue Kamaz pulling a low-floor, flat trailer, when he came from Rybnik (where he lived) to Warsaw, to pick-up an excavator from the Waryński factory.
I was 10 then, and I remember, that the air intake in his tractor was painted as a toadstool.
A few years later he died of a heart attack when walking down the street, at the age of 38, leaving his two young daughters among others.
