of water and wind.

i feel like i should explain this just a touch, which i dont really like doing, but i wanted to use the dragonfly as a bridge between elements - as larvae they are creatures of the water, but as adults they belong to the wind. these being such opposites, i also think it is interesting how different cultures have used the dragonflies as both symbols of evil and happiness... its just cool how a dragonfly is such a juxtaposition within itself.

and to add, no dragonflies were harmed in the making of this photo. ;) but i must thank my nanee who sat on the dock next to us and so carefully placed the little buggers on my gorgeous model and friend charissa. catching the dragonflies was actually pretty fun in itself - charissa and i had an awesome system and it only took us like 10 minutes to catch a ton of them. though there were quite a few moments where i thought this photo would be a complete disaster...

anyway, im off to sleep cause ill be at a wedding all day tomorrow and really could use some quality rest before then. i probably wont be around for a few days cause ive got a lot of client stuff to catch up on, so i hope you all have a wonderful weekend! :)

I love how well the symbolism works with the comp of the image as well as the contrasting fluidity of water vs her skin. Very well done

This is gorgeous, the dragonflies add so much to it. I wish there was a smidge more space above her head though, but that's probably just me haha
