阿肥和樂生阿伯/ Fred Chiu and a Leper

Fred Chiu (left, in his new beard), anthropologist, Associate Fellow in the Institute of Ethnology, Academia Sinica and a leper from Losheng (right) sat together when the latter was singing a song in the several-days-long sit-in protest in front of the KMT (Kuo-Ming-Tang, or the Chinese Nationalist Party, the former ruling party established by Sun Yat-Sen) headquarters in Taipei.

The Taipei County mayor Zhou Xi-Wei, a KMT member, annonuced publicly that he would demand to drive away the lepers in Losheng and restart the building of the new MRT line after he demanded the police to attack and arrest the protesters last week. The Losheng lepers and advocates thus came to the KMT headquarters to ask KMT chairperson Ma Ying-Jou to say no to the forced eviction.
