I took it yesterday in the park of Vidin which is flooded by Denube river. Not quite of a reportage.

I like this picture, but I have doubt about the reflection of the two persons.

    Melancholyyellow, what kind of doubt?

    Great reflections, nice compo
  • melancholyyellow 9y

I mean: if without the reflection of the two persons, it might be better to creat a melancholic mood. And I guess that even one person's reflection would have been better than two persons'. Maybe petty, but I felt it important detail.

    ok, may be... thanks

+ very good shot. B&W is really a good choice here.
    - I would have walked around it. the subject is absolutely worth the photo, but I don't really like the composition. eg that wall in the back bothers me a bit.

    From the Positive/Negative Pool.

+That`s absolutely swank. A real picture in a photograph. I love what you did with capturing the images in the reflection of the water.

-I`d like to see this in color or cropped to focus in on the reflection of the people.

    From the Positive/Negative Pool.
  • Adolfo Isassi PRO 9y

    + nice subject and tones
    - bad composition and I do not like the reflection on the image

:) the reflection is in the image
  • Mike 9y

This is, tonaly, one of the most beautiful photos I have ever seen.

Good composition with the reflections in the flood.

What is this "pcq-tea" stuff that you used? I can't seem to find any info on it.

I think it's a non commercially available developer you mix yourself...

    www.photosensitive.ca/wiki/index.php/Main/EasyFilmDevelopers

...I think it lasts forever because the solvent for the stock solution is an organic solvent, not water. Another long lasting commercial developer would be Rodinal - Foma R09 or Adox APH09,.

    Am I right?
  • Luben Karavelov 9y

Yes, something like PC-TEA but with hydroquinon also. The formula I am using is

    10 grams hydroquinone
    0,75 grams ascorbic acid
    0.2 grams phenidone
    TEA to 100 ml

It gives me more edge effects (apparent sharpness) and is somehow "staining" developer. Lately I have moved to pyrocatechol developers.
