18/09/2007 (Day 292) - Daddy Can Fix Anything
One of the side effects of my miniature wargaming is that I have an array of small tools and various glues for assembling and repairing figures. Of course these get drafted into various household tasks as well, and I am constantly called upon to dril, pin, glue or repaint various toys and small items around the home. I might be useless at big DIY jobs, but apparently when it comes to small things "Daddy can fix anything." It's a talent of sorts, I guess.
Actually here I'm fixing something of my own; the broken sword on what veteran miniature people will recognise as an old D&D Type V Demon figure. I can't remember the manufacturer, but I bought this figure sometime in the late 1970s ...
Anyway I'm drilling a small hole in the base of the sword. I'll do the same for the blade, then glue a small piece of wire in the holes to pin the joint together. Easy. Fiddly, but easy.
