Auto Focus Test
The focus point was in the middle of the green crayon.
I read about auto focus issues with the Canon 7D. This test tried all the different single focus points with a very narrow depth of field. The camera hit the spot almost every time. The misses were probably due to operator error.
Setting the auto focus modes for the first time was confusing. I turned straight to the manual page that explained the selections. There was no mention of the "Q" button on that page. After a few minutes of trial and error, I went back to the manual and discovered the "Q" button.
The image quality at high ISO knocked me off my feet. Coming from a 400D, there is just no way to compare the image quality. The auto ISO feature is wonderful. It turns manual mode into ISO mode. Although, I think it is not as useful with a flash in manual mode.
