Raining Hope [Version 2]

    Newer Older

I did a photo session in order to add to my Peace, Hope, Joy series today, but I just couldn't decide between my two favorite pictures from the shoot. So you got two pictures instead :]

I thought this was fitting because I'm running out of hope that there is still some nice weather left in '08.
It's been nasty and rainy and yucky for way too long now.

And I know this is my second clothes-line picture within a short time period, but I liked it.

    Bring back the sun!

Oh, and HBW! Sorry there was no real bokeh wednesday shot today!

Majorlight, .lost.and.found., and 4 other people added this photo to their favorites.

If this one doesn't make it to Explore then something is definitely wrong. I LOVE it.

I love love love love love this!!!!
Seriously your most amazing piece of work.
      By way way far.

      Perfect angle...perfect colors...perfect composition...wonderful!
The hope thing looks almost super-imposed into the picture. It's so defined by the bokeh behind it. Woooonderful!

What a great idea. I love the way that "hope" sign seems to be glowing out of apparent shadows and is just dangling there as if nothing is bothering it in the least. Really makes you believe there is . . . hope. I can see you carrying that sign around with you and having it placed inconspicuously here and there and a whole variety of photos. That would be really cool --- and leave the rope attached if you do. Kind of, if you got rope, you always got hope kind of thing. What? Ah, well, you can figure something out.
      : D

Truly creative, Kait. Your mind is definitely working out there in the ether somewhere. Keep it up!

Haha...as a take off of what Chiefy said:
I could see you carrying that sign around like a purse.

Now I bet you're gonna do it.

This one is my fave! I love the rain drops on the line and the perspective of the hope. Very cool :)

Chief - I didn't really think of it like that - the rope/hope thing. Clever, clever. And, yes - I was carrying it around and placing it various places trying to get the best shot. At one point it was at the bottom of a bucket of rain water (didn't work out too nicely).

Shel - Dude, If they made purses like that - I'd carry it.

      Bug Thanks so much!

You should put this song in your description.
      NOW, woman.
      It fits PERFECTLY
and it just came to my mind.

      Vindicated by Dashboard Confessional

      Hope dangles on a string
      Like slow spinning redemption
      Winding in, winding out
The shine of it has caught my eye

      And roped me in
      So mesmerizing
      So hypnotizing
      I am captivated
      I am

I am selfish, I am wrong
      I am right, I swear I'm right
Swear I knew it all along
      And I am
But I am cleaning up so well
I am seeing in me now
The things you swore you saw yourself

      So clear
Like the diamond in your ring
      Cut to mirror your intention
      Oversized and overwhelmed
The shine of which has caught my eye
      And rendered me so
      Isolated so
      I am
      Certain now that I am

      So turn
up the corners of your lips
Part them and feel my finger tips
      Trace the moment for forever

      Defense is paper thin
One touch and I'll be in
      Deep now to ever swim
      Against the current
      So let me slip away
      So let me slip away
      So let me slip away
So let me slip against the current
      So let me slip away
      So let me slip away
      So let me slip away
      So let me slip away

      My hope
      dangles on a string
      Like slow spinning redemption...
