Desert Candle in the Wind

To me, Desert Candles are among the most unique and beautiful wildflowers. I found this one along Elkhorn Grade Road in Carrizo Plain National Monument. Despite high winds and stormy conditions, this one stood still long enough for me to capture it standing tall and beautiful.

Please check out my latest endeavor, the Wildflower Conservancy. You'll find reports on recent wildflower sightings there as well. Thank you!
