Festival in Purple

On Sunday, I found a hillside in Little Tujunga Canyon covered with this phacelia. Still researching which variety it is, but it's quite lovely.

NOTE: If anyone is interested in going on a wildflower tour this Spring, please let me know. Depending on the bloom and interest, possible locations will be Death Valley, Joshua Tree (including Corn Springs and the Chuckwalla Mountains near Desert Center), Eastern Sierra (Alabama Hills and Division Creek), and Figueroa Mountain. Be sure to join the Flickr groups, Eastern Sierra Wildflowers & Wildlife , California Desert Wildflowers & Wildlife and Figueroa Mountain WIldflowers & Wildlife and stay tuned for reports and more info!
