The pencil that broke my heart...

So perfect with your slender frame

And soldiers solemn stance

A wooden stick I've learnt to love

But never had a chance

The pointed, silver, greyish end

Provides me with my lead

To record the days events

And thoughts that were not said

Every time I hold you near

And think of what to draw

I know you were the right choice,

Erasers are a bore.

I groomed you with my sharpener

And left you looking neat

I'd never choose another

Coz perfections hard to beat

I thought you'd be there 'till the end

Your presence filled the gap

I should have been more careful,

Why did you have to snap??

Taken for the ODC theme of "LOVE" The background is some heart shaped craft paper, when viewed large you can clearly see the shapes in the droplets!
