      Been thinkin' 'bout a Nikon.
One of my cousins is a Mass Communication Specialist in the United States Navy he's a big fan of Nikon.....
Some of the photographs he's taken are spectacular and heart breaking.
He was on assignment in Japan during the search and rescue/recovery mission following the earthquake and subsequent tsunami 11 March 2011.

      decisions decisions....

Is this the actual size? why is it that the lens is much bigger than the other. I guess it is much better to compare the lens so that you can get the exact size of the body itself. I hope its a little larger than my Nikon D90. :)

One lens is bigger than the other because the photo is showing 2 different lenses.

This composite was made from Nikon Marketing shots. The D700 image includes the old 24-120 3.5-5.6 lens and the D800 image has the newer 24-120 f4 lens.

The D800 is only slightly smaller than the D700 so it is still a significant lump of a camera. Both images line up on the hot shoe rails and are the correct relative size to each other as far as I can tell.

it's one hell of a leap when it comes to image resolution or megapixel count but from specs, there's no improvement on ISO rating. if you get this one, i'm sure you need to upgrade your laptop too :)

I think this Camera will be worth the money Nikon is asking for it.
