Pecos National Monument

Started out yesterday with this idea I'd go up to the Pecos National Monument to shoot, thinking because of all the snow Santa Fe had gotten, the monument would be pretty . . .

Ahhh . . . well, after I loaded up my car I noticed my rear tire looked low. Okay, so I drove over to a nearby gas station to air it up. But not only was it not taking air, it was losing even more until the sucker went completely flat. I don't know why, but at that gas station, the air compressor is ALWAYS surrounded by a huge puddle. So there I was flopping around in a puddle trying to change the tire. :/

Got the tire changed and drove over to Pep Boys to either get it fixed (I couldn't see anything that had punctured it) or replace it. Twenty minutes later, they'd replaced the valve stem, aired it up, said "No charge!" and I was on my way back home to change the donut back to the newly repaired tire.

Okay, so I was only an hour behind schedule, and while most of Santa Fe was still very, very white with snow, it started getting more scarce the closer I got to Pecos. Oh well . . .
