One day I will center myself...

Self-portrait. I've had my camera now for almost 5 months...I did this using my ghetto studio (all hand made), featured on

Single Sigma strobe set to full power, shooting through the ghetto studio (essentially the effect of a softbox above and a reflector below). This is the entryway to my house. My doorway is open letting a little sunshine in on camera right. Target shower curtain behind me.

Hey I remember that first picture! Had the above been centered..but the makeup job is spot on, and the hair looks gorgeous. Yes to bad photoshop cannot fix centering :)

I beg to differ. Photoshop can center and sometimes images that are not centered are far more interesting.

Actually, I did have pics that were dead center...This one just fit the mood I'm in a little better..sometimes life is just better if you are just a *tad* bit unbalanced...

I don't see anything wrong with your composition. Centering is boring. I think this is very creative. Great DIY butterfly lighting.

rule of thirds is all i have to say!!!

This is a great use of negative space. Because you are looking towards the negative space, the off center pose works just beautifully. Hold a sheet of paper over the negative space to see what a centered photo would look like and you'll see the composition is not as interesting.

I saw your article in DYI for the beauty dish - great stuff - I like your ghetto set up - who needs to spend a bunch (?) - love the curtain - check out - we would love to have you there.
