You can read about it here, as I can't possibly explain it. In my view, it is a good example of a minuscule idea blown out of all proportions. There are no rules as to what constitutes (or does not) ART but this is too far for me.
A few years ago in the same spot there was a giant statue of Allison Lapper the disabled artist, showing her pregnant and nude. Whilst I was unconvinced that the statue itself had much intrinsic artistic value, I did think it was right to have it there to help break down the prejudices against the disabled.
This latest attempt to elevate the vox populi just leaves me totally unimpressed and bored - just as the 'living statue' was.
