Scent of a Woman

On our first visit, we drove directly underneath this young male in the jackal berry tree, as he was lit by setting sun.

We did not hear a thing, but all of a sudden, he springs awake and stares. A young female leopard is slinking through the grass.

He is guarding a large buffalo kill, and not in a sharing mood. At three years old, he is too young to mate and protects the meal instead to grow stronger.
