Chariots of Fire

Erik launched at a time of day I have never seen before – dusk – which is great for photography, but not so good for finding your rocket (he did the next day).

This is an Animal Motor Works K1000 Skidmark Squirrel, with the magic ingredients of titanium sponge and Midas brake filings.

Two RVs are in the background on the right, the East end of the flight line. I was with the WIRED photographer in a strategic location to catch the moonrise later that evening.
