Ageratum... purple mist in the morning light!

The beauty of this simple flower, a stray that arrived in a tray with other plants. It stopped me in my tracks and headed me for the house to get my camera!

 

So much to love... the hairy leaves and buds. The tender act of unfolding. The hundreds of small buds within the bud! The light and shadow. Once again, the beauty of nature!

 

Flossflower is the common name for Ageratum houstonianum. But the common name is seldom used. Instead, the genus name Ageratum is so frequently used that it doubles as a second common name
