Wet purple and white Dendrobium nods in the moist morning light
This image from today's morning walk still stuns me. The elegance of this simple flower! The shadows she casts. The brilliant contrast between her waxy purple and pure white petals. It's one of those moments I love dearly in photography... when my eye and my lens vibrate in harmony knowing... Beauty!
Where I shot this orchid is an important part of the story. Valentines Day two years ago, my neighbor's husband showered her with several dozen, not orchids, but orchid plants. Together they attached them in little coconut-husk-filled mesh pouches to Palm trees lining the driveway in front of their house. They watered and tended. Watered and tended.
Today is the fulfillment of his adoring gift!
