Dripping wet Christmas Palm's white exploding flowers and pale minty green seeds
Explore Jul 11, 2009 #112
I have been photographing this Christmas Palm for weeks... from tiny white seeds enclosed in a brown-tissuey sheath, to these exploding pollen-laden flowers and tiny acorn-shaped seeds. The colors at this stage fascinate me... ivory, pale minty green... so subtle, so gentle and peaceful. And heavy water drops make it all sparkle!
By Christmas time, these seeds will turn a rich, fiery red. Every year I make a holiday wreath from the cut off lower branches from my Christmas tree. Wire bunches of these brilliant Palm seeds to it. And... using a long, satiny red ribbon... tie it to my front wrought-iron gate.
