Taken at 1am in the valley just below the Eyjafjallakjokull glacier last May.
I had to shoot this without a tripod, so couldn't get any super crisp photos. The tripod I lugged out to valley in my pack had no head on it—it was left at the hostel, and I didn't realize until we were there. (My only regret in life! haha.) So I had to lay the camera on a jacket on the ground. As there was an inch of volcanic ash blanketing the valley. Not exactly an ideal shooting setup. I was never quite happy with the results I got but at least I was lucky enough to capture some lightning! And not to mention seeing this first hand, so I'll always have the memories.
