My friends have a huge backyard and they get quite a lot of deer visitors even though they live in a city. This, of course, is very exciting. Deer! In the backyard!
A day or two after I took this shot (from the porch), I went out in the evening to check out the sunset and the view of the houses on the hills. I wasn't really pay attention to the actual yard and as I got near the top of the hill, I turned around and found myself a few feet away from the deer! There were about 6 or 7 of them. They were watching me, but I guess they knew I was not initially aware of them and so they didn't bolt. I had my SX-70 in hand and slowly, slowly moved a bit closer so I could get a good shot. And oh! I was so close and it was going to be so good. Pressed the button and...ARGH, no more film in the camera! And of course by then, the deer were freaked out and left so there was no way I was ever getting that close again. Sigh. It wasn't meant to be.
