BC is full of natural wonders. Today's sampling is lovely Corbett Lake, near Merritt, BC off Highway 97C.


Nestled in a big expanse of sub-alpine grasslands, Corbett Lake commands panoramic views of open rolling hills, stands of fir, Ponderosa pine, spruce, larch and aspen and wild flower meadows.


Ah, but the real draw here is fly fishing Corbett has earned an international reputation for its trophy trout fishing, drawing a huge number of fly fishing fanatics who match wits with wily trout. The actively-managed lake is for private fishing access, is fly fishing only. There's also a 1940's lodge with a charming lounge and original large stone fireplace that has surely heard endless tall fishing tales ...
