Florida Blue Crab

Driving out of Biscayne National Park in Homestead, Florida, I noticed something sticking out of the shallow waters in the flooded parking lot.

Couldn't believe my luck and how gorgeous this crab was. He was a good sized adult and was kind enough to come out of the water for a few shots. The Turkey Vultures soaring overhead probably know better than to mess with this one... that big claw was probably big and strong enough to deter any flying predators - unless they're willing to lose a leg or worse. After reading a little bit about these guys it turns out they can be pretty agressive and are not afraid of humans. Lucky for me I had my 70-200mm (320mm on 30D).
