Eastern Whip-poor-will at the North Roosevelt Trap, Roosevelt Co., NM, 101008. Caprimulgus vociferus. We were able to set up a mistnet and capture the bird. From the tail pattern and color, It appeared to be arizonae, but DNA Analysis indicates that the bird is the first NM record of C. vociferous. After being flushed the bird returned to this perch. Then after being netted and manhandled, it was back to this perch within 15 minutes.
