through the clouds

The Burj Khalifa, in Dubai, stabbing through the clouds as it reaches its half-mile height. Those "small" buildings around it's base? They're in the range of 30 to 60 stories, more than enough to be skyscrapers in most other cities, even here in San Francisco. The scale of this building is almost impossible to comprehend, whether it be in person or through the lens.

It is almost incomprehensible, as you said. It is also obscene in a region that is surrounded by poverty. Despite all that, it is an extremely good capture of a difficult subject - well done!

Really nice shot; great capture of an amazing piece of work that most of us will never see IRL.

      Thanks to you both!

I sincerely hope that more people will see this in coming years... but with recent events, will Dubai still be there for the visitors to come?

Inspiring shot. I missed an opportunity to visit last year. Will have to seize the next chance! BTW, there ought to be a skyline group where great shots like this could be collected!
