Empire State Test Shoot

I was hired to do a project which is very rooted in Noir. This is a test shoot where I'm thinking about how to get the correct lighting to make an image appear like it is from a movie of the 1940's.

Part of my idea for the final shoot is a collection of film-stills from a movie that was never made. This test run is playing with light and poses and some costuming in order to get the right look.

I do wish I was working with a designer on this project, featuring their clothes in the final magazine spread, but I think I can make it happen with what I have around, just a bit more work.

The model for this shoot is Natalie, who is an illustrator I frequently collaborate with. I took advantage of her being around this week in order to do a couple photoshoots, which has been fun.
