pretty! John, I'm doing similar blocks (they don't have the white bits though) and I was wondering when I'm going to sew them together if it would get too bulky at the seams. (am I making sense?) Any thoughts on that? thanks! (you can see mine here: blog.followthewhitebunny.com/2010/01/from-scraps-to-squar...

I didn't have any problems with bulkiness at the seams on this one. I usually press seams to one side, and try to have them be opposite sides when they match up. If I'm worried about bulkiness (usually on pinwheels and stuff), I try to press my seams open. Lately, though, I've gotten into the habit of hitting my block with some spray starch (I use Magic Sizing) before pressing, and it helps me get nice, flat seams with little to no bulkiness.

    Hope this helps!

Thanks, John! I'm always a bit sloppy with pressing the seams, pressing them all ways except the right one ;)
