Linden Hills Depot

    Newer Older

Owned and operated by the Minnesota Streetcar Museum, streetcars like TCRT 1300 run between Lake Calhoun and Lake Harriet along the Como-Harriet Streetcar Line. TCRT 1300 was originally built in 1908. This shot was taken at the Linden Hills Depot near the bandshell of Lake Harriet. The station is a recreation of the original station which was built here in 1900. It was closed in 1954 when streetcars stopped running. The new station opened in 1990.

I totally agree! I haven't been on this streetcar line since I was little, but I just felt I had to at least get a photo of it. And it was the last one of the day... How lucky is that? Hehe.

      Glad you like it! :)

The black box with clear plastic on top looks likes someone's microwave lunch. That's what it looks like to me (in the original size)

The entire photo reminds me of a colorized photo from The Twilight Zone. A wonderful feeling of the grand old days.

Thank you. That's one of the great things about Minneapolis. Even though it's a big city, there are peaceful places to go. And, the fall scenes are wonderful. All I do is point and shoot! The scenery does the work.

Yeah, it kinda looks like a lunch box of some sort... Youre right. Now I just want to know what's in it! Hehe.

I agree, a little more orange and red would created greater contrast and a more dramatic image.

    17. jpellgen 56 months ago | reply

For sure... I love fall oranges and reds.
