White Tailed Eagle Gliding above Mull, Scotland

Firstly a huge thank you to you all for you understanding, kind words and personal messages when I last posted. I am now on a heavy cocktail of 7 medications and moving slowly in the right direction. Baby steps for now, but I hope to be posting ever more regularly and commenting on your work and really look forward to getting out and about with my camera again

You have seen this impressive fellow before, from the Scottish Isle of Mull on the Inner Hebrides, this is the magnificent White Tailed Eagle, Haliaeetus albicilla, the UK's largest bird with a wingspan of 8-8 1/2 ft, putting it at a similar size to America's Bald Eagle. It is a bird which became extinct in the UK in the early 20th century, but a successful reintroduction now sees 44 breeding pairs in the UK, largely confined to the East coast of Scotland - A true honour to see him in all his glory :-)

Happy weekends to you all
