Fearless Kajal during mobility training

Bihar Natraheen Parishad or Bihar School for Blind Girls was opened in 1993 by Dr Ajit Sinha (Director of the AB Eye Institute). It began with one girl picked up from a slum area in Patna to be taught and cared for in a small room in the centre of the city. Within a year the number had risen to three. Now there are 60 girls living in a large building on the eastern outskirts of Patna and the waiting list gets longer every year.
