Open-Island Chiang-Mai, 2016
In Feb. 2016, the "Makers for Humanity" went to Chiang-Mai for a 4 days workshop to cocreate another up-cycled, floating Open-Island.
Invited by Prof. Günter Faltin, founder of the entrepreneurship-summit Berlin, this Open-Island was built on his private property in North Thailand to prove the feasibility of the modular open-source construction concept. Open-Island is seen as a potential solution to raise the climate change resilience along the coastlines of many regions as well as for flood prevention alongside rivers.
