Farm and Trees

    Newer Older

Strange Highway (really!), four miles or so south of my home in Mulliken, Michigan.

Despite my doubts about the weather, I managed to capture a couple more shots of fall color yesterday.

Farm Aid borrowed this photo for their front page....

And Peter Anthony's using it for a book cover.

Original (uncropped, unprocessed) photograph is here.

Yes, it's been surprisingly colorful this past week; not as good as last fall, but generally quite excellent. I've been wandering around the county on my lunch hours, looking for photo ops.

Very nice composition! I could have done with a little less saturation! ;-) (maybe the straws in the forground wouldn't be blown then?)

b0r1s: And I have some problem with the loss of detail in the buildings, which is also a saturation issue.

Checking back to my original, it looks like it came out of the camera over-saturated. FWIW, my processing darkened it up a bit, cropped most of the sky away, and resized it. I applied an unsharp filter, too, but the effect was pretty small on this one.

      Appreciate the feedback. Thanks.

Nice capture Joel. I like the slightly oversaturated look of this one. Really makes the trees pop. Around me they really never did much this year...maybe next year :)

Beautiful! The color is amazing and the composition is almost poetic.

Wonderful colors there. Makes me antsy to see what we'll have here in southwest Michigan for color this year. Probably not too much due to the dry summer, but we'll see.
