Thanks for posting this Joel. Ernie will be missed. I hope you don't mind that I used this photo on my blog post here: itellstories.org/2010/05/05/ernie-harwell/

"Baseball is a spirited race of man against man, reflex agaisnt reflex. A game of inches. Every skill is measured. Every heroic, every failing is seen and cheered - or booed. And then becomes a statistic."

    Ernie Harwell

Harwell's body will lie in repose at Comerica Park on Thursday beginning at 7 a.m. and "until the last person who wishes to pay their respects" has done so.

Hey Joel - I blogged this to Mitch Albom interviews Ernie Harwell on Absolute Michigan.

Ernie's death while expected, leaves a big hole. I don't think I ever hear a Tuger game without thinking of how Ernie would call it.

As always, thanks for adding to the Absolute Michigan pool.
