      Yeah, it was wicked cool out in Herndon watching the storm plow in. Watched an Airbus A320-200 land about five minutes before it pushed in, needless to say the pilots foot was on the floor landing quick, hard and fast.

      The storm surprised me near Harpers Ferry,WV. Approaching via Hwy 340 I could not see the approaching storm because the shelf cloud, virga and lighting were behind the Blue Ridge mountains. The storm became evident upon crossing the Potomac and it his us full force when crossing the Shenandoah river bridge. I estimate the winds were 60+ Kts and visibility dropped to 10-20 feet a few times. Scary stuff!

      Great shot. We had a tree completely across the intersection of River Road at Western Av. over in the Bethesda area. It was quite a storm and these kids were standing in for the cops...
