High Schoolers workstation

    Newer Older

    Overall shot.

This is my workstation that I use for everything. Being a high school student that's Facebook, Twitter, homework, music, programming, gaming, everything. When I get to college I will be a computer science major (surprise!). Right now I am a sophomore in high school, and have been running quad monitors since last year. I have taken programming classes at Kansas State University and done a lot of cool projects for people in the community both for profit and volunteer. I started in 4th grade with HTML, added PHP in 5/6th grade. In 8th grade I got started with Java. In 10th grade I do everything from Bash to CSS to C#. (Java's my favorite though!)

Left most monitor is my laptop, Dell Latitude D630, 2.2 Ghz dual core, 3 gb. ram. (XP) It is docked on the far right. The Latitude D line is great because it has docks that work great, see later photo.

Center two monitors are the primaries for my desktop, a quad core, quad-gig ram, Ubuntu 10.10 desktop
Right most monitor is on the secondary card for my desktop, all three are on the same computer though.

Top monitor, old laptop. Compaq Presario v6000 1.25 Gb. ram. (XP)

Yes, I did get the wallpaper from a recent Lifehacker post

I'm disgusted this is highschool students desk (disgusted and slightly jealous). This is easily one of hte most professional deskspaces ever seen. Much more pro than some "older professionals".

I like the usage of dell monitors. I like the uniformitiy/symmetry.

I REALLY like that despspace. What's your hard drive space situation?

@validatelife Thanks! Hard drive wise, I don't need that much space. I have a 320 GB that hosts my OS, it's split into a LUKS encrypted part for my /home mount, and the rest for the root partition.
I have a 500 GB internal for various other things. A 2 T.B. external HDD is home to my backups and TV shows, while a 250 G.B. external HDD is where I store the VM's.
