The Greensburg Tornado Disaster: A Volunteer's Photo Journal
When you witness something horrible, a decision is placed squarely on your shoulders: you can acknowledge the risk, step into the event and help, or you can separate yourself from it and carry on. On May 4th, 2007, I watched Greensburg, Kansas get destroyed by a two-mile-wide tornado, and I chose to step inside a disaster.

These are the pictures and the story of my journey to Greensburg to help a town find meaning again. Each picture is chronological; click on the next picture in the set to move forward in the story. But the story is not over yet, there is still much to be done.

STATUS: I am currently home in Colorado.
