Bond N0 9 Commercial Street Edinburgh

Ian and I imagined being workers at the Scottish Government building across the way. We imagined finishing work on a glorious friday in the summer, and heading over to Bond N09 for a few after work pints. (Jonny)

On every table is a wooden box that says 'OPEN ME' on it, but I open a few and there's nothing inside. Hummingbirds on the wallpaper. Jonny orders a burger, without the blue cheese option, and cuts it up with a knife and fork. I borrow a pen from the barman. High stools, but we move into the other room with low-down sofas. Outside, on the pedestrianised cobbled street, it's strangely warm, and I wander down to look in the window of a well-lit furniture shop. It's Ian's birthday and I give him a card. He laughs. We talk about Libya, who are being bombed. On the way home two teenagers cycle alongside me, and ask what I'm doing. They tell me that they're "going thieving". (Cai)

A cavernous pleasant space, and great chill-out bar - It was my birthday - One of those nothing birthdays! - Which i like! (Ian)
