FledglingTawny Frogmouth (Podargus strigoides) - down around Rapid Creek 4
Tawny Frogmouth chick - Podargus strigoides - down around Rapid Creek. My mate had implied he'd seen a chick around the previous day. After climbing a tree to find an empty nest and then finding some Bar Shouldered Doves in a nest on the way down, followed by been cut off by a snake sharing the same tree as me, we spend about 90 minutes looking for frogmouths. We saw 3 but no juveniles. As we were sat in the car ready to drive home I looked up and this guys was there on the fence 10ft infront of the Ute! Funny old world! We reckon as it was probably what John saw in the nest the previous day it had just fledged the nest today!
